On 5 July, Sheikh Abdurrazak As-Saadi, a visit-professor of the Academy, advisor to former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein on religious issues, founder of Al-Maarif University (Ramada, Iraq), doctor of arabic philology and islamic sciences, visited the Kazan office of the Bolgar Islamic Academy. He was met by Ainur Sultanov, vice-rector for development of the academy, and Ruslan Sayakhov, Interim vice-rector for scientific activities.
Sheikh As-Saadi noted that today in Russia all conditions are created for receiving quality Islamic education. According to him, the establishment of the Academy by order from President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin shows the special attitude of the head of State towards Islam. Sheikh Abdurrazak Al-Saadi also noted that the Muslims of Iraq and Jordan are grateful to the President of Russia for his public condemnation of the act of vandalism against the Quran in Sweden.
Sheikh also emphasized that he prays for the well-being and socio-political stability of Russia.
In the framework of the meeting, the sides discussed issues of expanding co-operation in holding various scientific and educational events, as well as the development of educational and research activities of the Bulgarian Islamic Academy.
At the end of the meeting, the Sheikh spoke about his working meetings with representatives of the leadership of the Iraqi Republic and expressed readiness to assist the Academy in building relations with Muslim educational institutions in the Middle East.
