On 8 June, Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan, met with the Minister of Education and Higher Education of the State of Qatar, Ms. Buthaina al Nuaimi, in Kazan.
Addressing the Minister Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Qatar is a reliable partner of Russia in the Middle East. Rais (Head) of Tatarstan noted the importance of close cooperation with the Islamic world and the organization of Islamic cooperation in scientific, educational, cultural and tourism spheres. To strengthen the existing scientific and humanitarian ties, the Head of the Republic proposed to organize regular exchange of school, student and teacher delegations.
Rustam Minnikhanov dwelt separately on the project of the Bolgar Islamic Academy, which, according to him, not only allows preserving cultural traditions of Islam and Muslim peoples of Russia, but also forms a careful attitude to Islamic heritage and science, allows studying and popularizing the richest theological heritage.
In turn, the Minister of Education and Higher Education of the State of Qatar Buthaina al Nuaimi thanked for the warm welcome and the opportunity to exchange experiences, and noted the prospects of plans for further cooperation.
The meeting was held within the framework of the international forum of ministers of education “shaping the future”, which is being held these days at the Bashir Rameyev IT Park. The forum is attended by education ministers from 20 countries of the world.
