A meeting of the Council of Founders of the Bolgar Islamic Academy was held on March 17. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Mufti, Sheikh Ravil Hazrat Gaynutdin, Mufti of the Republic of Tatarstan Kamil Hazrat Samigullin, Head of Administration of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia Muhammad Hazrat Tadzhuddinov, Representatives of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation and Rais (Head) and invited guests. 

The event began with a recitation of the Holy Quran. The meeting discussed a number of issues, including summarizing the work of the academy over the past few years. Acting Rector Aynur Timerkhanov delivered the final report on the activities of the Bolgar Academy for 2020-2022. In his report, he talked about the achievements of the Academy in the field of science and education, development of the material and technical base, problems and ways of their further solution.

Members of the Board of Founders thanked Ainur Timerkhanov for the effective work in the post of Acting Rector and expressed hope for the continuation of further fruitful cooperation in solving joint problems in developing the national system of Islamic religious education and improving the scientific and educational potential of the Bolgar Islamic Academy. The meeting participants wished success to Ainur Timerkhanov in his new position – Vice President of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan in improving the quality of Islamic education and training of highly qualified specialists.

Rafik Mukhametshin, Professor of the Academy, Chairman of the Council on Islamic Education, Rector of RII and KIU, spoke about the concept of the Bolgar scientific and educational cluster.

One of the most important issues on the agenda of the meeting of the Academy’s Board of Founders was the appointment of the rector of the Bolgar Islamic Academy. The Chairman of the Academy’s Board of Founders, Ilfar Hazrat Hasanov, proposed Farkhat Khusnutdinov for this post. He previously headed the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Tatarstan, has a PhD in Law and was awarded a number of state awards for many years of successful professional activity.

The candidacy of Farkhat Khusnutdinov was unanimously supported by the founders of the Academy. Members of the Board of Founders wished the new head of Bolgar Islamic Academy success and expressed their readiness to provide comprehensive assistance and support in the further solution of the tasks set before the academy.
