Delegation of Bolgar Islamic Academy is on a visit to Arab Republic of Egypt
From January 22 to 23, 2020, delegation of Bolgar Islamic Academy, headed by Rector Daniyar Abdrakhmanov, is on a working visit to Cairo. The working trip began with a visit to Al-Azhar University where a meeting was held with Vice-rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Yusuf Amir. The Vice-rector welcomed the guests and noted that al-Azhar is one of the oldest and most prestigious Muslim universities in the world, where not only theological disciplines are taught, but also secular sciences. The university, with a thousand-year history, makes extensive use of modern technological advances. For eight years e-learning has been developing in Al-Azhar. Dr. Yusuf Amir emphasized that BIA students can take advantage of distance learning option in Al-Azhar and gain access to library resources of the university.
Al-Azhar University is currently working on a project to translate Quran into various languages of the world. Publications in English and French will be released in the near future. Dr. Yusuf Amir noted that the signing of a scientific cooperation agreement between Al-Azhar University and Bolgar Islamic Academy in the near future would be very constructive for both sides. Including, in the matter of joint participation in the translation of Quran and the Sayings of Prophet into Russian. Specialists of the University and the Academy, having extensive theological knowledge, can provide the most correct translation of the verses of Quran and Hadith, avoiding errors that lead to misunderstanding the sacred texts.
At the end of the meeting, BIA delegation donated a collection of works by the prominent Tatar theologian Shigabutdin Marjani to Al-Azhar University, as well as a souvenir plate with the emblem of the Academy. In turn, Dr. Yusuf Amir presented BIA a commemorative “shield” with the emblem of Al-Azhar University.
