Bolgar Islamic Academy in conjunction with Saint Petersburg State University, with the assistance of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan, invite you to take part in the international scientific-practical conference “Islamic Studies and Islamic Theology in the Modern Education System: Problems and Prospects” (hereinafter referred to as the Conference).
The Conference will take place from November 5 to 7, 2019 at the headquarters of Bolgar Islamic Academy, within the Federal project aimed at the training of specialists with profound knowledge of Islamic history and culture.
Arrival of the event participants will be on November 5, 2019 by the address: Republic of Tatarstan, Bolgar city, Kul Gali St., 1, departure on November 7, 2019.
The following issues are to be discussed at the Conference:
- The formation of theology in Russia;
- Legal regulation in the field of theological (Islamic) education;
- Theology in the modern educational and scientific area;
- The main directions of modern theological studies;
- The specifics of teaching Islamic theology in Russian and foreign universities.
Conference working languages: Russian, Tatar, Arabic, English.
Participants and guests of the event will be able to get acquainted with the activities of the Bolgar Islamic Academy, as well as visit the Bolgar Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve - the northernmost monument of medieval Muslim architecture in the world, a unique example of Bolgar-Tatar architecture from the middle of the XIII - XIV centuries.
Requirements for applicants’ registration and paper submission:
The Conference participant needs to provide the documents listed below within the established time limits:
An application form indicating the scientific event, name, place of work, position, email address, mobile phone number (the form is attached);
Report textup to 10 000 symbols, the text should be typed in Microsoft Word (6,0; 7,0; 8,0; XP), font size - 14 pt, typeface Times New Roman, single spacing, format - doc., Docx., Rtf. Fields - everywhere 2.5 cm. Alignment - in width. Headings should be in bold, in capital letters, centered, name should be indicated in italics in the upper right corner. All footnotes are paginated, the numbering of links is end-to-end. The text of the article should be structured into sections, annotations in English and Russian (100-150 words) with the indication of keywords (5-7 words) carefully selected. The structure of the full text of the manuscript devoted to the description of the results of original research should correspond to the generally accepted template and contain the following sections: introduction (relevance of content), purpose, materials and methods, results, conclusions, discussion. In the sources list, each source should be placed on a new line under a serial number. In the text of the article, references to sources should be written in Arabic numerals in square brackets. The format of the sources list should comply with U.S. requirements and standards. National Information Standards Organization NISO Z39.29-2005 [R2010]), which will provide further indexing of articles in international databases. When linking to journal articles (the most common source of information), the following template should be followed: Author A.A., Co-author B. B. Article title. Magazine name. Year; Volume (Number): pg. 56–66.
Conference materials will be published in the form of a collection of theses and articles, which will be available in a printable electronic format.
It is planned to place the collection article by article in the scientific metric database of the Russian Science Citation Index.

The editorial board of the Conference reserves the right not to accept for publication materials that are not designed according to the standard and do not meet the stated topics, as well as previously published works.
The editorial board does not enter into correspondence with the authors.
All expenses of travel, accommodation and meals of participants whose applications will be approved by the Organizing Committee will be borne by the organizers.
