Activists from Russia and the Islamic World discussed volunteer projects at Bolgar Islamic Academy
On August 7, 2020, Bolgar Islamic Academy held the second day of the meeting of the International Summer School “Bolgar dialogue of cultures. Volunteer movement: the experience of Russia and the countries of the Islamic World”.
Organizers of volunteer projects and their participants from Russia and the countries of the Islamic world joined the forum: Dmitry Kamyni, chairman of the Commission on culture, youth policy, interethnic and interfaith relations of the Public chamber of the Samara Region; Vadim Zaichikov, director of the Russian representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Lebanon; Mona Khalil, executive director of the Russian-Egyptian business council "Cross-cultural competence in the organization of international events". The Egyptian ministry of youth and sports was represented by Taha Mohamed Gamal, associate professor, department of sports leisure, faculty of physical education, Helwan university; Elena Sonina, the organizer of the School of young leaders from the North Caucasus Federal University, Stavropol. Also took part in the work of the summer school; Irina Consol, general director of the House of kindness foundation; Rifat Izmailov, general director of the Zakat charitable foundation and other activists from Russia, Egypt and Syria.
The conference participants in their speeches shared their experience of volunteering on a regional and international scale, discussed the possibility of joint implementation of volunteer projects.
At the end of the practical part of the online conference, Anna Belikova, a lecturer at Moscow state university and Russian academy of national economy and public administration, an adviser to the strategic vision group “Russia-Islamic World”, announced the best projects for presentations of the volunteer's personal brand and gave recommendations on their design. Video clips of these presentations will be posted on the Instagram account of the Interreligious dialogue center of Bolgar Islamic Academy.
Rector of Bolgar Islamic Academy Daniyar Abdrakhmanov made a closing speech. “A distinctive feature of the conference was interactive master classes on youth diplomacy and the formation of a volunteer brand, held jointly with employees of the Russian foreign ministry and the strategic vision group “Russia-Islamic World”. They were watched by dozens of listeners via ZOOM and on the Youtube channel of Bolgar Islamic Academy. The event, despite the online format, aroused keen interest among the audience from different countries, such as Russia, Egypt, Syria, and Saudi Arabia", he said.
Further, Irek Zigantdinov, deputy head of BIA Interreligious dialogue center, announced the winners of the video competition, which passed online voting and gained the largest number of views on the Academy's YouTube channel.All participants of the International Summer School "Bolgar dialogue of cultures - 2020" received certificates of participation in the conference, participants of the video competition received diplomas and valuable prizes.
